Our Hardwood Side Gates have been beautifully constructed using Iroko, a large hardwood tree from west coast of tropical Africa, also known as African Teak. With an average density level of 673kg/m3, it is an extremely hard and durable wood. Deep natural tones to enhance the appearance – really “make an entrance“.

Height of the gate is always to the highest point shown.

Different material? We also produce Wooden Side Gates, Metal Side Gates, Composite Side Gates and Metal Framed Side Gates.

Benefits of a Hardwood Side Gate

Iroko wood, often referred to as "African teak," is a popular choice for outdoor structures, including side gates. Here are several benefits of using an Iroko side gate:

1. Durability

  • Iroko is highly resistant to rot, decay, and insect damage, making it an excellent choice for outdoor applications. Its natural oils help protect it from harsh weather conditions.

2. Aesthetic Appeal

  • The wood has a beautiful golden-brown/ red colour that darkens over time, providing an elegant and warm look. Its fine grain pattern can enhance the visual appeal of your property.

3. Stability

  • Iroko wood is known for its stability and minimal shrinkage, which reduces the likelihood of warping or cracking. This makes it ideal for gates that need to withstand changing temperatures and humidity.

4. Low Maintenance

  • Compared to other woods, Iroko requires less maintenance. Periodic oiling/ painting can enhance its appearance and longevity.

5. Eco-Friendly

  • Iroko is sourced from sustainable forests in Africa, making it an environmentally friendly choice if harvested responsibly. Choosing Iroko can help support sustainable forestry practices.

6. Versatility

  • The wood can be easily shaped and finished, allowing for customisation in design and style to suit your property's architecture.

7. Security

  • A solid Iroko side gate can provide a strong and secure barrier, enhancing the privacy and security of your property.

8. Weather Resistance

  • It can withstand exposure to sunlight, rain, and snow without significant deterioration, making it suitable for various climates.

Conclusion

Investing in an Iroko side gate can enhance the beauty, security, and durability of your property, making it a practical and stylish choice for homeowners.
