HOW TO MEASURE FOR METAL FRAMED GARDEN/ SIDE GATES:

Calculating gate width with existing pillars or posts in place.

Take THREE measurements between the pillars/ posts. Across the top, middle and bottom. Make a note of the SMALLEST measurement.

 

Measure garden or side gates

Gates to opens inwards towards property. Hinges mounted on rear of post/ pillar. Back edge of gate will be flush with the rear face of post/ pillar.

REDUCE 50mm (or 2″) from your lowest measurement.

This set up example would be used if placing the gate in an alley way or similar. The allowance on the hinge side is greater and does create a visible see through section.

Reduce 100mm (or 4″) from your lowest measurement.

Alternative option if placing gate within two walls would be to mount a post to the wall. This set up would reduce the visible gap down the hinge side.

Reduce 50mm (2″) from your lowest measurement.
