COMPOSITE SIDE GATES
The Beauty of Composite
Eco-friendly composite side gate combining a deep metal frame with the latest composite board to create a gate that “really makes an entrance”. Constructed from 95% recycled materials and fully recyclable making it an extremely environmentally friendly gate.
Why We Use Steel Frames Instead of Aluminium
Our composite gates are built with steel frames to ensure long-term strength and durability. We deliberately avoid using aluminium for structural components, as aluminium frames tend to fail over time—especially at the hinges, where repeated movement and stress cause the material to weaken.
In real-world use, aluminium gates often begin to fail within 12 months, as the hinge points loosen or deform under load. By contrast, our steel frames maintain rigidity and alignment, ensuring smooth operation and a significantly longer lifespan.
Ultra Shield Technology
Included with Gate
Fitted Lock and Handle: included with the gate.
Gate Furniture: included with the gate: 2 x adjustable hinges and hinge pins. As standard, the position of the hinge will be 6″ (150mm) from the bottom edge of gate and 6″ (150mm) from top edge of gate.
Finish: As standard, the framework will be finished in black (included in price) white or anthracite grey. We can also supply the frame in any RAL colour if needed.
Colour Choice
We offer 6 different boards, Anthracite Grey, Light Grey (Stone), Teak, Antique, Walnut or Ebony (black). The board is capped 360 degrees which will give the board maximum protection against mold/mildew, stains, fading, cracking, cupping, and swelling.

How to Measure
Measuring for your new gate is actually a very simple process.
If existing posts/ pillars are in place, take three horizontal measurements. Top, middle and bottom as shown below.
Make a note of the SMALLEST width.
** If you are replacing the posts, take a measurement of the whole opening width and reduce size by the width of the posts. For example: Opening width of 1m 260mm minus 2x posts (at 50mm wide each) = 1m 160mm.
Next, decide how the gate will hang and reduce width accordingly. The is by far the most popular option.
Option 1: Gate hanging on the rear of posts/ pillars. Main advantage of this set up is the reduced gap that is visible between the gate edge and post.
To calculate gate width: Take the lowest measurement and reduce by 50mm (2″).
This set up example would be used if placing the gate in an alley way or similar. The allowance on the hinge side is greater and does create a visible see through section.
Reduce 100mm (or 4″) from your lowest measurement.
Please note: If purchasing metal posts with your gate, hinge pins will be welded to the post. If not, we supply hinge pin plates for you to fix to existing posts/ pillars.
If ordering online and exact measurement not offered. Reduce to closest size. Want it exact? No problem, call our team to order – 0800 6124 965.
