Unlike some competitors, our gate material is thicker, comes complete with a 10 year workmanship guarantee, adjustable hinges/ pins, opening latch. Therefore, if fitting to existing posts/ pillars – this gate is ready to hang with no extras required.

    To calculate gate width, take three horizontal measurements between existing posts/ pillars. Reduce measurement by 100mm (4") to allow for hinge and opening clearance.

Description

BUDE METAL SIDE GATE:

Handcrafted in the UK by skilled craftsmen using the finest materials to provide ultimate durability and quality. Unlike our competitors, our gate material is thicker, comes complete with a 10 year workmanship guarantee, adjustable hinges/ pins, opening latch. Therefore, if fitting to existing posts/ pillars – this gate is ready to hang with no extras required.

How to Measure: Take three measurements (top, middle and bottom) horizontally between the pillars. Reduce size by 4″ (100mm). The size you end up with is the gate width required.

Width of Gate: Taken as the actual gate (not opening size). This can be easily calculated – measure the distance between the pillars and reduce by 100mm (4″).

Height of Gate: Taken to the highest point of each gate. We recommend allowing a 50mm (2″) clearance between the bottom edge of gate and driveway (as long as the drive is level). If you require a more exact height, please contact us to order.

Gate Furniture (hinges etc): 2 x adjustable hinges, hinge pins, closing receiver and opening latch included with each gate (enough to hang direct on existing posts/ pillars). As standard, the position of the hinge will be 6″ (150mm) from the bottom edge of gate and 6″ (150mm) from top edge of gate. If you require these to be different (if for example you already have pins set into a post/ pillar), please call us.

Metal Gate Posts:80mm x 80mm. Supplied to allow the posts to sit in the ground to a recommended depth of 2ft or above ground posts designed to be mounted against an existing pillar or wall.

How to Measure

First, take three measurements (top, middle and bottom) between the posts/ pillars. Make a note of the LOWEST size.

Reduce the size depending on how you would like the gate to be hung.

Can the gate be made to measure?

Yes. Not all entrance width’s are the same. You can order online to the nearest inch or call our team on 0800 6124 965 to order to the millimeter.

What is included?

Gate Furniture (hinges etc) 2 x adjustable hinges, hinge pins with plate to mount on posts/ pillars, closing receiver and opening latch included with each gate (enough to hang direct on existing posts/ pillars).

Finish. Choice of black, white or anthracite grey. For a longer lasting finish, we recommend upgrading finish to “Longlife”.

As standard, the position of the hinge will be 6″ (150mm) from the bottom edge of gate and 6″ (150mm) from top edge of gate. If you require these to be different (if for example you already have pins set into a post/ pillar), please call us.

What is ``Longlife`` finish?

Our long life system provides the ultimate protection against rust and chips. The gates are sand blasted after production then a zinc primer is applied followed by a smoother, thicker top coat.

Our standard finish will scratch and chip easier resulting in more maintenance and a higher risk of rust spots forming.

Your gate...your colour! How do I select any colour?

We are able to paint any gate in any RAL colour. RAL colours are coded so by providing us with the RAL code we can finish your gate to your chosen colour.

Do you offer 0% finance?

Yes. For any product up to £6000.

What is the warranty?

10 year workmanship warranty. This covers all welds on the gate.

It does not cover rust. Rust can occur when the gate paint is chipped and the damage not repaired. General maintenance and care of the gate is the owners responsibility.

Custom RAL colours available on any gate

Hinge Mounting Options

Metal side gates are always fitted to pins mounted on metal posts, walls or timber. You simply lift the gate on to the pins to hang.

We offer three different options:

Option 1: (free with gate)

Adjustable hinges for metal side gates

Included free with gate. Hinge pin plates with adjustable eye bolts and opening latch with receiver. These can be attached to existing walls, timber posts or metal posts.

Please note: As we do not know what material these plates are being connected to, fixings are not included.

Option 2:

Metal-posts-for-side gates-1

Purchase new metal posts from us with your gate. The posts will have the hinge pins welded to them.

Select either above ground or below ground posts. With above ground you can select with or without base plates depending on whether you will be fixing post to floor or wall. Adjustable eye bolts and opening latch with receiver included.

Option 3:

Your posts or pillars already have pins in place. We can manufacture your new gate so that it can drop directly on to existing gate pins. Please call our team to order (0800 6124 965). They will explain in detail what measurements we need to take.

Add Extra Security

Upgrade your standard opening latch to a fully fitted Locinox 40 security handle and lock system. Supplied with 3 keys and available in black or chrome.

Insert Lock with 100% stainless steel mechanism. The Stainless steel and adjustable self-latching bolt combined with the right keep guarantee a strong and solid closed gate where the gate wings can not be pulled apart or forced open.
