Manufactured by hand in the UK by skilled craftsmen using the finest materials to provide ultimate durability and quality. All of our metal bifold driveway gates come complete with a 10 year workmanship guarantee, adjustable hinges, lockable handle and drop bolts. Constructed using our Premium Frame, which includes chunkier 40mm x 40mm side and bottom rail and thicker 16mm diameter infill bars resulting in a much sturdier and higher quality appearance gate.
Bi-fold gates are a great solution for those with limited return access where standard, double opening gates won’t work. We have two set-up otions available, centre opening (where two leafs are connected and fold either side) or single opening where one leaf folds one side and the other three leafs fold opposite (see below).
How to Measure
Calculating gate width with existing pillars or posts in place.
Take THREE measurements between the pillars/ posts. Across the top, middle and bottom. Make a note of the SMALLEST measurement.
To determine what clearance is needed to calculate gate width, you must decide where the gate hinges will be mounted.
OPTION 1:
The most popular way is the hinges being placed on the back. This allows a smaller gap between the post and the gate edge so therefore looks better.
This set up needs 20mm between post and gate edge and 10mm gap between each gate. Therefore, the total to be reduced would be 70mm (or 60mm for a 3 leaf gate).
For example on a four leaf gate:
If you have measured your gap between the posts and have a width of 3m 200mm the gate width required would be 3m 130mm (3m 200mm - 70mm hinge gap allowance).
OPTION 2:
Gate hinges are mounted to the inner face of the posts (facing each other). This produces a larger gap of 70mm between post and gate edge (either side). The gap between each gate leaf is 10mm.

Set-up options
Option 1: Centre Opening
Like a standard double gate, open’s from the centre. Two gate leaf’s fold to one side and the same the opposite side. As standard, all gates are designed to open in (towards the property).
Option 2: Pedestrian Opening
One leaf (either side) opens with the other three leaf’s folding to the opposite side. This is a great option if wanting to allow easy pedestrian access. As standard, all gates are designed to open in (towards the property).

Any competent DIYer is able to fit there manual bi-fold gate, we do recommend professional installation if having automation.
